CERT1NYC Applicant Eligibility:
The CERT Program was created to allow for the average
residents or employees in a particular community to respond
to emergencies by assisting traditional responders (Police,
Fire, and EMS) to “do the most good for most amount
of people” while maintaining their own safety. Therefore
logically, a prospective Team Member must spend a significant
amount of time in the community where the team exists.
Accordingly, CERT1NYC applicants must live or work in the
Bay Ridge, Bensonhurst or Dyker Heights communities of Brooklyn,
NY.
CERT1NYC :
The CERT1NYC program is a not-for-profit entity partially
funded by local elected officials, civic & religious organizations,
and private business, Partners &
Supporters.
